The Dual Approach to Leadership.

Leadership hindsight reviews the past to learn—at best from the experience of others, or personally through rigorous self-evaluation. It requires the humility to acknowledge past failures and extract valuable, unvarnished data from them. Self-examination from the inside out is practically the best teacher.

Foresight

Leadership foresight takes decisive action, implements appropriate preventative measures, and definitively declares "Never Again." It is the strategic ability to look to the future, to innovate, and to prepare an institution or a society long before a crisis ever hits.
